The Future of The Eagles
In my opinion, Westbrook is too injury prone. McNabb? Sure. But really Westbrook has been hurt sooooo much more than Donovan.
Philly should trade Westbrook for a draft pick to help boister the defense. Look at what LeSean McCoy is doing with Leonard Weaver. McCoy is a younger, fresher Westbrook, and is a tougher runner from what he learned from Dave Wandstadt at PITT. Weaver is one of the toughest runners in the NFL, and has gotten the Eagles crucial first downs.
The receivers are great. Maclin is learning fast in the high-powered offense, and DeSean Jackson's shortest TD this season was a 35-yard reception against Washington. TE Brent Celek is becoming a favorite across the offense, and the fans.
The O-Line needs some work, but the pickup of Jason Peters was huge along with Stacy Andrews. If the offense can stay half as healthy as this season next year, who knows how many points they can score.
The D-Line is above average, but not stellar. Trent Cole is a premier finnesse DLineman, and Mike Patterson and Broderick Bunkley have been dominant in the middle.
The Linebackers are where work is needed. Stewart Bradley was gone for the season, and the rest of the team isn't in the top 30 in tackles in the NFL. a good fit would be Brandon Spikes of Florida.
The Secondary is solid, but is getting old. work is needed, but not for a few seasons. Asante Samuel is tied for third in the NFL with 7 picks.
